OUR 2023 AGM
The Wandsworth Lib Dem 2023 AGM will provide the annual occasion for members to participate in the running of the Local Party’s affairs.
WHAT HAPPENS?
Officers in the local party will report to the membership on how the last year has gone, and the prospects: members will ask questions: certain decisions relating to the conduct of our finances will be considered; and elections for the 2024 Executive will be held. In addition, a guest speaker will provide a broader perspective on our Lib Dem Affairs.
THE VENUE AND TIME
The AGM will be held on the 20 November 2023 at the Hall associated with the Earlsfield Public Library, Magdalen Road, SW18 3NY. The meeting will start at 7.30pm with doors opening at 7. Drinks and nibbles will be available before the meeting. We hope you can come.
THE AGENDA
A link to the agenda is here . Paper copies will be available at the AGM. In summary:
- The meeting will receive reports from the Chair, the Treasurer, and activists in our three constituencies of Tooting, Putney and Battersea. Questions will be taken after each report. The Treasurer will seek the necessary approvals about finance-related matters.
- The PPCs for Putney and Battersea will introduce themselves.
- The returning officer will supervise the elections, subject to the need for a ballot of all our members if a position or positions on the 2024 Executive is contested.
- To close, Lib Dem London Assembly member Caroline Pidgeon will address the meeting, with an opportunity for questions.
THE ELECTION OF THE 2024 EXECUTIVE
We invite applications to serve on the 2024 Executive. Applications from women and from minorities who might be underrepresented are particularly welcome. If more than one applicant applies for a particular position, the applicants will be given an opportunity for all but one to withdraw, before the contest proceeds to a vote of all the membership. A link to the rules for the conduct of any competitive elections is here.
